Oscar S. Cisneros is an associate in the Entertainment, Media and Technology Practice Group in the firm's Century City office. Mr. Cisneros is also a founding member of firm's Video Game Industry Practice Group and works with the Intellectual Property Practice Group.

Areas of Practice

Mr. Cisneros' familiarity with technology and his experience as a journalist writing about technology allow him to take the most abstract subjects and explain them in simple terms. He is a self-taught technologist familiar with computer and Internet networking, a number of Internet and telecommunications protocols, and the operation of websites and web servers.

Prior to joining the Entertainment, Media & Communications Practice Group, Mr. Cisneros cultivated six years of Intellectual Property litigation experience litigating cases at the state and federal level concerning copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, patents and other technology related claims concerning domain names, the Electronic Communications Privacy Act and unsolicited commercial email. Mr. Cisneros brings his significant experience in IP litigation to bear on his clients' IP transactional needs.

Areas of emphasis include:

Assisting clients in the registration of trademarks and copyrights;

Helping clients develop in-houses policies to maximize intellectual property protection through the registration of copyrights and trademarks, patent portfolio management and the development of trade secret protection policies;

Intellectual property transactions including the sale and licensing of intellectual property assets, domain names and technologies;

Internet transactions including Internet advertising, sponsorship and co-branding agreements;

Working with clients on website compliance issues;

Drafting end user license agreements and other contracts related to intellectual property and technology.
